Increasingly 3D color scanning technology is being used in commercial applications. It’s only a matter of time before we are going to be able check out new apartment interiors, tourist attractions, or a destination address with advanced dimensionality. A panoramic photo of an interior just won’t cut it any more, and users are going to want to be able to check out every nook and cranny of a room. And while Google has introduced “45 degree maps“, the angled perspective is not immersive enough to be considered three-dimensional.
Yet, what makes this space even more intriguing is the advancement of screen technologies. Dimensional mapping and display will marry and hopefully be in the hands of consumers soon.
