Getting inky for the MB hack day

This weekend MB London is holding our first hack day, in collaboration with the team at Bare Conductive.

After working with conductive ink for last year’s Joule project, we’ve been keeping a beady eye on where the tech is heading. The opportunities for illustrators, product designers, programmers and print lovers are exciting – so we invited 50 experts from these fields to join us for a day of collaborating and creating. And pizza.

Our wonderful Shoreditch neighbours Bare Conductive are bringing along their brand new Touch Board – a piece of kit so cutting edge it’s still only half way through it’s Kickstarter funding round (it met it’s target in under a day, and within two weeks has almost a thousand backers!). The Touch Board’s genius is in the simple way it can turn almost any surface into a sensor, through capacitive sensing technology. Check out their Kickstarter page for loads of great info on its technical specifications, how it works, ideas on what you might create – and of course to pledge your support!

Unfortunately slots for the hack day are all taken, but we’ll be live tweeting using #MBInkHack and igramming, and can’t wait to share what the hackers come up with!
