Today Microsoft launched a series of new smartphones going by the name of Kin. Although other smartphones have the same or similar capabilities, Kin developers have focused on the tools most vital to the teenage user – such as texting. Furthermore, Kin understands that young people are not interested in the latest app or signing up to a new social networking site, they want to be where they and their friends already socialise (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr) and have easy, instant access to those sites wherever they are. Judging by the demo (left) I think I’ll be adding Kin to the list, along with Gossip Girl, Glee, and Abercromie and Fitch, of Things I Am Sadly Too Old To Be The Target Demographic Of Anymore. Sigh.
