Just received a mail out from TED Curator, Chris Anderson, urging everyone in the US to tune into Jamie Oliver’s “Food Revolution” on ABC Tonight. In his words, “As a reminder, America, along with much of the rest of the world, is suffering an obesity epidemic. Millions of people are literally in danger of eating themselves to death. Jamie Oliver’s food revolution tackles this head on… by helping families rediscover the thrill of delicious, healthy, freshly-cooked food. He is a magnetic spokesman for one of today’s most important issues.”
Jamie is a massive national treasure here in the UK due to his work putting food at the center of many of Britain’s social ills. From the Fifteen Foundation which offers restaurant training to 15 young adults who have a disadvantaged background, criminal record or history of drug abuse, to lobbying the government with “Jamie’s School Dinners” – a formal campaign to ban unhealthy food in British schools and get children eating fresh, tasty, nutritious food instead. Moving Brands worked with Jamie ‘back in the day’ and we support him every step of the way. You can check out Jamie’s inspirational 2010 TED Prize talk to the left.
