JH at large in Denmark

Yesterday MB’s Jon headed off for a fleeting visit to Copenhagen to visit the Danish Design School and Bysted Agency.

Here’s a top-line of the day from Jon:

“The talk at the Danish Design School was fantastic, it was a full house even though it was exam week. I spoke about the moving world, and the need for tools and systems to enable the brand to be more than just visual identity – like the identity generator we created in the design of the Nokia master brand.

Then I headed over to Bysted to meet Jan. The studio there is really nice, it’s a converted dairy building. I spoke on the same themes, trying to keep it to 30 mins and leaving some time for questions. Peter and Jan from Bysted talked about the state of identity design and where it’s heading in the future – they had some nice case studies of how they’re thinking about dynamic logos and flexible identities… Unfortunately, the other talks were in Danish but I followed the gist through the visuals and the odd word that translates into English!

Daniel Gjøde from Stupid Studio then spoke after me, they’re doing some really nice identity and motion graphics work too.”

Photo credits go to Jon, who snapped this pic outside the Design School, down by the Copenhagen Opera House.
