What’s the best publishing platform?

slide-03
Today one of the MB team posed the seemingly simple question – what’s the best publishing platform?

As the responses rolled in, we decided to compile a list of the great and good. Let us know your thoughts, and if there are any we have missed:

For a simplified, easy to use platform give these a shot:

MoonFruit

Carbonmade

Indexhibit

Or perhaps take a gamble on a lesser known publishing platform that’s very simple to use. Perfect for beginners

Fabric

The all new squarespace 7 has launched and it’s looking pretty neat, it has excellent off the shelf designs and is fully responsive.

We’re really curious about the Grid, apparently it builds itself – but we’re yet to test drive it as yet.

You could go traditional and use the tried and true Tumblr, Cargo and WordPress:

WordPress

Cargo

Or if you want to try a simple lightweight CMS that is completely customisable you could try any of these:

Kirby

Stacey

Anchor

And no publishing platform roundup would be complete without a nod to the leaders of the digital pack, the Madefire Motion Book tool.

So  – over to you. What’s the best of the bunch?

I’ve been a happy WordPress user for 8 or 9 years now. No complaints.

ExpressionEngine and MovableType are other options worth a mention.
