Evolving the brand for a socially conscious fashion marketplace

Material World was founded in 2012 by Harvard Business School friends, Rie Yano and Jie Zheng. Having worked for many years in the New York fashion industry and inspired by fashion as a way of self expression and style evolution, they were often faced with guilt and frustration of owning too many unwanted items. Together, Yano and Zheng left their day jobs to create a socially conscious business that would ease the process of buying and selling used, high-end luxury items for the modern day, ever-evolving consumer.

Results

Moving Brands is proud to have worked with Material World to redesign its wordmark (beginning by reintroducing the ‘O’ to the name) and create an animated logo that supports its ‘Never Stop Evolving’ brand story. Material World has been featured in many publications including ABC, WWD, Lucky, TechCrunch and most recently, The New York Times.
