The brand that turbo-charged a start-up

On entering the market, Housing.com immediately began outstripping its competitors by offering India's first map-based real estate portal. Born out of its founder’s own struggle to find a flat in an industry that is notoriously opaque, it was the only player in the online real estate space that independently verifies every property that it lists.

A close, candid and intuitive partnership

As lead creative partner, we spent time working side by side with the Housing team in Mumbai, while growing a team across our studios to provide a full range of skills and expertise, from UX design and copywriting, to illustration and film-making. Our partnership — close, candid and intuitive — grew organically over a year of collaboration to support almost every business unit.

Expressing an upbeat spirit

We designed and built the microsite that launched the brand and communicated Housing’s upbeat and optimistic spirit, which was also expressed in the launch and product films we made. We provided best practice guidance to bring the brand to life within the app UX and UI, and concepted ATL advertising campaigns. We devised social media strategy and content, built around the  #LookUp  campaign, which ran across key channels including OOH, Print, and social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

From one city to 45

Immediately following launch, Housing saw its web traffic increase over 20 times. Brand awareness rose from 35% to 53%, and app downloads increased from approx 250,000 to over 1m.

In just two years, with a brand that expressed and fueled its optimism and energy, the business grew from its small team in Mumbai to 1,500 employees in 45 cities across India.

Extending the reach of the business

Using the functionality updates we provided, Housing has since expanded its offer into serviced apartment, land and new projects, and attracted further substantial investment from Helion Venture Partners and Nexus Venture Partners.
