Telling Flex’s story on a global stage: a family of films for Flex

Being a global, NASDAQ-listed design, manufacturing and logistics business, Flex needed to make its presence felt at the Las Vegas CES 2019, the world’s largest tech show. Moving Brands was asked to produce a suite of films that grabbed visitors’ attention, while conveying Flex’s point of view on how its complex offers positively impact emerging markets and technologies. These stories needed to demonstrate the depth of Flex’s thinking and the breadth of its products and services.

A large scale, varied approach, drawing together complimentary filmmaking techniques
We took a variety of complementary approaches to making the six films, from live action with post production special effects, to a fully animated film. We led the creative and built an international team of specialists, working with our long-term animation partner Art&Graft and new production partners, US-based Watts, and London-based Envy.

A North, Central, and South American production
The live action shoot took us to three countries in two weeks, shooting at Flex sites in San Francisco, USA, Guadalajara, México, and São Paulo, Brazil.

A family of films
While each of the six films told a clear, separate story about how advanced technologies are changing the way products are made, their carefully designed creative direction ensured a ‘family of films’ distinct from competitors and unmistakably Flex.

Expanding the message to the rest of the world
Translated into German, Spanish, Mandarin and Hebrew, the films have now gone on to have a valuable life beyond CES. They tell the world the Flex story of distribution, automation and manufacturing, across the company’s global sites.
